Fallout 4 Vendors

Most vendors with shops in fixed locations carry Shipments of supplies for Building in addition to having inventories of Junk, except Arturo, who has Shipments but no random Junk.

Note that it is normally cheaper to buy random Junk than to buy Supplies which have a very high price per unit. The list below shows the number of units in a Shipment, the cost of the Shipment (which can be decreased with clothes and drugs), and the cost per unit. Next will be shown a list of random Junk items with their prices and the components they yield.

  • Other vendors, including doctors who can also cure you, have limited inventory.
    Doc Weathers also has Shipments of Acid, Antiseptic, Glass, and Rubber.

Trashcan Carla is a traveling vendor who can normally be found in Sanctuary or at the Drumlin Diner. Unlike most other vendors, she is available 24 hours a day. Trudy, the vendor in the Drumlin Diner, is also open 24/7, but does not have junk Shipments, only random junk.

Supervisor Green gives you a discount on shipments as well as other inventory. You will probably never need any of her bulk supplies (with the possible exception of cloth which is mostly needed to build beds), but the discount also applies to the rest of her inventory.

Cricket also has the most powerful close-range weapon in the game, the Spray n' Pray. She usually can be found outside the entrance to Vault 81, but has also been seen around Hangmans Alley.

Connie Abernathy will give a discount if you do a mission and give her a locket. (Cloth, Concrete, Fertilizer, Leather, Wood)


Cheaper Sources of Building Supplies:

Here is a list of some items which have scarce components in them and which are relatively cheap: (Items like wood, glass, and plastic are not scarce but are shown for completeness.) Again, these prices can be made lower with clothes and meds.

  • Desk fan: $7 (2 gear, 2 screws, 2 steel)
  • Fuse: $9 (copper, glass)
  • Globe: $4 (screw, 2 cork, 2 plastic)
  • Hot plate: $13 (2 circuits, copper, screw)
  • Soap: $7 (oil)
  • Surgical/TV Dinner tray: $4/$3 (3 aluminum)
  • Toy car: $9 (screw, 2 wood)

The total for these items is $56. The total per-unit bulk price for these items would be hundreds of caps.

  • Adjustable (not Combination) wrench: $3 (gear, 2 steel)
  • Alarm clock: $28 (2 aluminum, 2 gears, 2 springs, 2 nuclear material)
  • Bone cutter: $15 (2 gears, copper)
  • Cake pan: $9 (3 aluminum)
  • Cooking pot: $10 (copper)
  • Coolant cap: $13 (2 aluminum)
  • High-powered magnet: $24 (3 copper, ceramic, nuclear material)
  • Paint can: $19 (2 oil, 2 steel)
  • Toaster: $6 (2 springs, 2 steel)
  • Typewriter: $21 (3 gears, 2 screws, 3 springs)
  • Yarn: $2 (cloth)

Rather than risk getting to a vendor and not having Charisma increasing items to improve the prices, I always carry Charisma clothes and meds with me: a hat, black-rimmed glasses (or certain sunglasses), a suit (or dress), and Grape Mentats (made at the Chemistry station) and/or beer (or some other alcohols).
