Notes

Most people only need to know the locations of a few complete sets of power armor: T-41 (Concord), T-60 (The Prwyden at level 16+), and X-01 (35 Court at level 28+), so this page is only of interest to those who want to collect (or at least know the locations of) all the power armor in the game, for whatever reason, so this part of the listing was separated from the main listing to save space on those pages for those who don't care. That being said, it was fun to look for each of these and having all of them on display does look cool. And you get about a dozen fusion cores while you're at it.

Some of the entries on this page are for PA which is being worn by Raiders and others. You have to either kill them to get it or pickpocket their fusion core, causing them to get out of the PA. These are indicated by the words "being worn". If you can't get them out of their PA, then you have to take the PA parts from their frame and you will not be able to display the PA unless you get another frame. Some may say "being worn" but you may find it left alone in which case you can steal it.

You can buy a frame from some vendors, but they are very expensive. Alternatively, some of the PA you find will have few or even none of the PA parts for it, and you can fill it with the parts you got with no frame. A frame next to a Power Armor work station in the Atom Cats garage is marked for taking.

All but a few of the places on this page was visited at level 50 in order to to establish the highest level the PA can be. Unfortunately, it appears that even if you are at a high enough level to get X-01 PA, there is only a random chance that you will get it at any of the locations that I did, and conversely, you may get it at places where the list shows T-60 or even lower. While Fustion Cores are more consistent, you may not get one where one is shown on the list due to randomness.

Since some PAs will not have Fusion Cores equipped, you carry a spare FC with you. Even if a PA has an FC, be sure to select Exchange, remove its 100% charged PA, and put in a FC that has already been used some. Otherwise, you will end up with a bunch of 99% FCs listed in your inventory separately and F4 will never use them unless/until you run out of fully charged FCs..

(R,  9, CR) If you approach the National Guard Training Yard from the back, you will first see PA in its own shed before you get to a bunker type building with another set inside protected by a terminal (X-01 MP NFC). If you get the 2nd one, the 1st one will be gone when you come out.

(R, 18, TC) The elevator for the Mass Pike Interchange is on top of a shack slightly southwest of the spot where the highways cross. When you get to the top, the PA will be standing up by a shack to your right.If a Gunner comes out, kill him before he gets into the PA. If he is already in the PA and spots you, you kill him and take the parts or run away and try again later.

(O, 19, CL) South Boston Military Checkpoint had a T-60 for me, but a video on Youtube says you can randomly find X-01 there. Same for the one south of Nordhagen Beach.

CC, 11, CC) The PA is in a shipping container or a rail car. Leave companions at home as they may cause a Raider to get into the PA. Stealth Boys are rarely needed in F4, so you may want to use one here to get to and inside the PA before the Raider does.

(R, 22, CC) Atom Cats has two T-60 sets missing only the helmets. One is standing outside and has a fusion core; the other is being worn by a guy patrolling the area and you can pickpocket to get him to exit the PA, then after a bit, steal the PA. A PA frame is next to a PA workstation in the garage and is marked green for taking, although, the only way to take it is to put it on, of course.

If nobody sees you stealing, you can put on the unoccupied set of PA first, take it home, come back, take the frame home and come back, then pickpocket the set being worn and take it. If you take the one being worn before the others, you risk that while you are gone he will put on one of the others (even the frame) and then get killed fighting some invading Raiders, making it impossible for you to get the frame.

Power Armor removes all effects/benefits of gear worn underneath it except the gear's weight, so it is more efficient to wear nothing under Power Armor or to wear gear you would have taken with you anyway, such as CHR-increasing or INT-increasing gear.
